Definition of an urban strategy for a territory in mutation

Master’s degree final project, February – June 2012
Team work: Navid GHASEMZADEH, Lizhen XU
Under direction of Patrick Henry
Mixed program: residential, offices, commercial
Location: Pont de bondy

5.6km from the Paris border, two highway viaducts, shaping a triangle, have come to occupy the Canal de l’Ourque. The arrival of these heavy infrastructures has transformed several residential neighborhoods, initially brought together around the industrial activities of the Canal, to today’s heterogeneous tissue. This mixed and infrastructural landscape has witnessed the growth of urban sprawl and has transformed to suburb in only a few decades. Today, with the implimentation of Grand Paris policies, another step in the transformation of this territory is being taken.

For this project, our approach consists of proposing a new analysis of the territory in a scale which allows to comprehend the impact of upcoming mutation and to reinforce a sustainable mobility in the politics of developement.
